Different people have different personalities which make them unique and special.
But there is one thing that defines and unites adventurous people is the way they face life.
They live life in the first person, they seek happiness through new experiences, and for them,
adventures are not just one part of life, but a lifestyle.
Shrenik Baldota adopted this lifestyle quite early in his
life and his passion for nature and adventure has grown with each passing day. He has been
part of several gruelling adventures, such as flying a MiG-29 jet to the edge of space,
experiencing zero-gravity flight, etc. He has completed expeditions to Antarctica,
South Georgia, Falkland, the North Pole, swimming with blue whales, and research on the
Crocodiles of the Okavango in Botswana.
As an avid bird lover with a passion for photography, he has
researched, documented, and photographed many species in and around Hospet and Hampi.
His love for nature and advanture has earned him a moniker of
While growing up Shrenik faced many challenges in studying,
recollecting, and memorising things. That was the time when if one is not good at
studies, he was considered to be a failure. It was difficult for the person to be
readily
accepted in the family, friends, and society.
What made Shrenik standout though was his way of thinking,
This trait gained him acceptance, self-esteem and changed his life
completely. Looking for opportunities in adversities came naturally to him. He focussed
more on extracurricular activities - like sports, scouts, leadership skills, which
enabled him to be a well-rounded, balanced person. He was a frontrunner by being a
captain of cricket, hockey, baseball, basketball, and football teams in the school. He
was also the sergeant of the NCC cadets.
Then on, acceptance was never a struggle for Shrenik. At the age of 35, when Shrenik was
diagnosed with dyslexia, he
was already married and successfully managing his company and family both. While reading
about dyslexia he found
many qualities of dyslexic people: seeing the bigger picture, finding the odd one out,
improved pattern recognition,
good spatial knowledge, sharp peripheral vision, entrepreneurship, creativity, and most
importantly thinking out-ofthe-
box. These were the strengths Shrenik was born with.
While he was always a curious, adventurous, creative, insightful person, his growing up
struggles made him an out-of-the-box thinker, who always finds opportunities in adversities. This added one more
layer to his personality. From
struggling to find acceptance to becoming a problem-solver for family, friends and
relatives, Shrenik has come a long
way. One thing however didn’t change was his love for nature and adventure. That has
only grown strong with the
passing time.
