As they say, ‘Child is father of the man’, Shrenik is also the product of habits and behaviour developed during his formative years. After being raised at Hospet with a dose of good values and graduating with a commerce background from Mumbai, he joined the family business. His father keen that he learn the ropes of the business from ground up.
Professionally, he thinks that the most important landmark for him when he looks back at about
30 years of work life, was his solid foundation, growing from the shop floor to being a
manager, and from there to general manager and director.

Being the owner’s child in an owner-driven company, the whole experience moulded him in many ways:
He feels that life is a journey, not a destination - a journey of working with people, sharing
sharing successes and failures, hits and misses, which is what he enjoys.
Ultimately, it is never only about the balance sheet or task.

A man is affected not by the events itself, but by the view he takes of them. Being dyslexic has not only not bothered Shrenik, but he also feels it is one of his major strengths. When he was young, although he was like any other child, his attention span was less, he got distracted easily, and could not memorise. This made him turn towards extra-curricular activities, where he excelled.
At school, it made him do better in other areas like Sports, Scouts,
NCC, leadership - captain of the class, school cricket team, football team,
etc. It turned him multi-dimensional. He is grateful that he has dyslexia.

That’s how one turns an adversity into an advantage. Being dyslexic formed his personality in many ways:
In entrepreneurship, normally when challenges come, they become a stumbling block in one’s
ability to think, or the ability to do. But for him, it is like a necessity - when a challenge comes,
it is an opportunity. Normalising failure is a stepping stone to success. So, he likes to get into action.

Along with being a Joint Managing Director of MSPL Limited, Shrenik serves as a director of several companies across the Baldota Group in varied sectors which include mining, wind power, industrial gases, shipping, and pellet plant. As a growth warrior, he is constantly evaluating and guiding the foray of the Group in new ventures such as wind power, gold mining, and mineral exploration.
He also serves as a Director at The Greater Bombay Co-operative Bank Limited, Mumbai, which has 22 branches in Mumbai. To further his commitment to promote clean energy, he served as the Vice Chairman of Indian Wind Power Association (IWPA), which aims to promote wind power in the country.
He feels grateful to his team for helping him successfully shoulder these diverse responsibilities.
Along with his professional life, he is also a family man, living in a joint family which includes his grand parents, parents, brother, wife and four children amongst them.
He unwinds with pursuits like travelling, driving, camping, birdlife & wildlife watching, photography, music, and flying. With a habit of pushing the boundaries, he has taken part in several gruelling adventures, such as flying a MiG-29 jet to the Edge of Space stratosphere, wing walking, and experiencing the zero-gravity flight.
Has completed two expeditions to Antarctica, South Georgia, and Falkland, going up to the North Pole. Add to that, a voyage to the Galapagos, an excursion to swim with the blue whales, research on the crocodiles of the Okavango in Botswana and trek to the live Vanuatu Volcanoes in the South Pacific Ocean.
He is the first Indian ever to trek on Ambrym (Vanuatu) and
his soulmate, Rashmi, is the first Indian woman to climb a volcanic crater.

As an avid bird lover with a passion for photography, he has researched, documented, and photographed many species in and around Hospet and Hampi. To create awareness and bring sustainable solutions for the long-term conservation of threatened avifauna, he has been a mentor and sponsored a slew of publications which include ‘Important Bird Areas in India’, ‘Potential & Existing Ramsar Sites in India’, ‘Threatened Birds of India’ in association with ‘Bombay Natural History Society’ and ‘Birds of Hampi’ in alliance with INTACH-Hampi.
With an attitude for pushing the limits and a work ethic of a monk,
it is no surprise that close associates refer to him as a ‘Wild Monk.’
